Good morning church family,
Yesterday the Governor made an amendment to the current health orders that churches would be able to hold gatherings under certain stipulations.
Under the color code ORANGE they will allow up to 20 people to meet in a gathering. This new amendment gives churches an exception to that rule with the ability to have larger gatherings... however, they will “strictly enforce” the 6-foot physical distancing rule.
That means we would still NOT be able to have a normal church service.
We would have to take the chairs out of the sanctuary and cluster them in groups of 3 to 5 chairs, 6 feet away from each group. Effectively only about 20 to 25 people would be allowed in the sanctuary at a time.
This would mean that we would have to stop people at the door from entering in and turn them away from a church service because we would be at maximum capacity at 6 feet apart.
Even if we tried to have two or three church services to accommodate everyone, the coordination of such an event would frustrate everyone.
In short, we are still unable to open our doors for church services at this time. However, I am expecting this to change quickly and we will be reunited very soon.
Let’s keep looking to the Lord and trusting in His timing. I would like to encourage everyone to be patient.
We are all in the same boat together.
