I am sorry to bring bad news to everyone. However, in light of President Trump asking that gatherings to be limited to 10 or less, the impact has just hit us. This means that we will not be having Lenten lunches for the next several weeks. They are being canceled.
With that also comes our Wednesday evening theology book study, Youth group, as well as our Sunday morning and evening church services. These are all being canceled.
Some would argue that these mandates are not required, however wisdom and honor dictates that we honor our government, as well as the wishes of our denomination. We could look at this as a totally negative situation OR we can accept the challenge and look to God for wisdom and tap into our God given creativity to honorably find ways to continue to build one another up and stay strong in faith.
In Acts 11:27-30, we read where a prophet named Agabus tells of a drought or famine coming. Some people today would say that they’re prophesying doom and gloom, however I believe that that was God directing them on how to navigate a hard situation.
There is no doubt, we are in a hard situation. I believe God would still direct us today on how we can navigate this situation. We need to seek Him and present to Him. With all my heart I know one of the greatest answers before us is what I’ve already told you....
Declare Psalm 91 over your household!
Beyond that, what can we do to encourage one another? Phone calls? Text? Messages? Absolutely! Pray with one another, read scriptures to one another, encourage one another. We will see this through. And if the drought is coming, let’s be prepared.
God is still a way maker and a provider.
